Willem was sworn in as a lawyer in 1991 and has broad experience as a lawyer and mediator for both private persons and entrepreneurs. In recent years, he has specialised in family-related disputes, varying from disputes over family businesses or family property, from divorces to complex divisions of property. Willem furthermore has an affinity with private and business rural real estate. The way he handles his cases is characterized by a human approach. This way, conflicts are resolved – whether or not through mediation – rather than fought out.
Willem is a member of the Netherlands Association of Family Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS), a registered Netherlands Mediation Institute (NMI) mediator, registered with the Netherlands Institute for Conflict Mediation (NIVC), and a member of the Netherlands Agricultural Law Association (VVARA).
In addition, Willem teaches Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR)/Mediation to student lawyers registered with the Netherlands Bar Association, and he is a freelance law lecturer in the HAN University of Applied Sciences.
